AI BioTech Purchases Mitotyping Technologies
AIBioTech, LLC and Fairfax Identity Laboratories (FIL) have purchased Mitotyping Technologies, LLC, one of the oldest and most experienced companies in the Forensic DNA analysis market. Mitotyping is devoted to the forensic applications of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) analysis and operates out of State College, Pennsylvania. AIBioTech plans to operate Mitotyping as a Division of FIL keeping all operations in State College.
“Mitotyping Technologies is made up of a preeminent group of talented and dedicated forensic scientists who have built an exceptional reputation in the forensic field,” added Mr. Thomas Reynolds, Executive Vice President of AIBioTech and AIB management oversight of Mitotyping. “This new partnership will allow AIBioTech to continue to build on our industry leading position in innovative and high quality forensic science.”
Terry Melton, founder and former owner of Mitotyping Technologies will remain on as Director of Mitotyping Technologies at AIBioTech. “We are excited to join forces with AIBioTech, and feel our synergy will allow us to explore new technologies and participate in more exciting projects in the future,” said Melton.
