Casework Genetics Headquarters to Locate in Northern VA

Casework Genetics has signed a deal to plant its new corporate headquarters and forensics lab in Woodbridge.  The company, which applies DNA technology to forensic science, signed a seven-year lease for 8,850 square feet of class A office space in The Engineering Groupe building.

Casework plans to invest $1 million and create 25 jobs over the next three years with an average annual salary of approximately $89,000. One new position is already advertised on Casework’s Web site. The company has “an immediate opening for an experienced forensic DNA casework analyst who is also interested in research”.

Casework was attracted to Prince William County’s growing forensics and criminal justice business base
which includes the FBI Northern Virginia Resident Agency, the FBI and DEA forensics units at Quantico Marine Corps Base, the Prince William County Police, and the Virginia Department of Forensics Northern Laboratory.

The county shelled out a $25,000 grant from its Prince William County Economic Development Opportunity Fund for Casework’s workforce services and development and/or capital equipment purchases.

Casework Genetics, which worked with Appian Realty Advisors LLC to secure the space, will move in by the end of the year.
