Mallory Wins Ernst & Young Greater Washington 2012 Entreprenuer of the Year Award
Tonya Mallory, co-founder and CEO of Health Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. HDL, Inc., has received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 award in Greater Washington. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Tonya Mallory was selected from more than 80 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Awards were presented at a special gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner.
Now in its 26th year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year Program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 140 cities in more than 50 countries throughout the world. This marks the first time a Richmond company has won this regional award.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year Program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 17, 2012. The awards are the culminating event of the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
Tonya Mallory received the award during a period of rapid growth for the organization, a milestone in the medical community that is changing the way clinical laboratories interact with physicians and patients. “We offer a comprehensive panel of tests to help physicians personalize treatment based on more complete patient profiling. As a result of the evidence-based approach at Health Diagnostic Laboratory, the medical community now has the ability to earlier detect risk factors pre-disposing patients to disease and to provide more personalized, cost effective treatments,” said Mallory.
