Virginia Biotechnology Association

Together, We're Working Wonders in Virginia

Regional Chapters

Nearly 300 biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies are based in Virginia, regionally clustered around universities in Blacksburg, Charlottesville, Richmond, Norfolk and Northern Virginia. The Virginia Biotechnology Association (VaBIO) hosts regional events, often in partnership with the local technology councils, to help bioscience professionals network with their neighbors.

Here are some examples of regional programs:

  • “Biotech After Hours” networking events: These events take place once or twice per year in each of the regions across the state. These networking events are business casual social events that help bioscience companies get to know each other in a light-hearted environment.
  • Regional Bioscience CEO-Only Groups: Recognizing that “C-Level” executives can benefit from connecting directly with their peers, VaBIO has launched CEO-Only groups in many of the regions across Virginia.
  • Co-Sponsored Breakfasts, Luncheons and other Events: VaBIO works very closely with the regional technology councils across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Association often co-sponsors such events and members are able to take advantage of special rates and benefits.
