VaBIO Executive Earns Top Credential
American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in Washington, D.C. announced this week that Mark A. Herzog, executive director of the Virginia Biotechnology Association, has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association community. Fewer than five percent of all association professionals have earned the designation.
“Even after nearly ten years of service as an executive director, I felt that there is always more to learn,” said Mark Herzog. “I am extremely pleased to have passed the exam and will continue to seek further professional development in the years ahead.”
To be designated as a CAE, a candidate must meet numerous standards including years of service, professional development hours and success in passing a stringent four hour examination. More than 3,600 association professionals currently hold the CAE credential. 2010 is the 50th anniversary of the CAE program.
