Cadence and several other local Shenandoah Valley, Virginia-based manufacturers are teaming up with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) and Blue Ridge Community College for their new Job Starter training program. Job Starter is a paid training program that allows potential job candidates the opportunity to receive training and meet local employers during a 3-week period. Ultimately, this program is intended to help members of the community land a career in the advanced manufacturing industry with the employer of their choice.
“It was a great experience to be part of the team of local employers that helped develop this program with Blue Ridge Community College and VEDP,” said Rachel Brown, Human Resources Manager at Cadence’s Virginia facility. “I believe Job Starter will be an excellent resource for Shenandoah Valley residents that are interested in having a career in advanced manufacturing.”
Job Starter begins October 25 and runs through November 15. Careers in the program include, but are not limited to, production associates, machine operators, and manufacturing apprentices. Other local companies participating in the program are Berry Global, Daikin Applied, Dynamic Aviation, Innovative Refrigeration Systems, McKee Foods, and Provides US.
