Payroll Trends to Watch
KPMG will provide an overview of payroll tax considerations related to a flexible workforce, the current trends in managing payroll, and considerations for HR/payroll policies related to a workforce that consists of remote, office, and hybrid employees. Additionally, KPMG will provide a summary of various credits that may be available to companies in the life sciences industry, including various R&D incentives and the employee retention credit.
Speaker Bios:
Jon Stone is a Tax Managing Director for KPMG’s Global Mobility Services Employment Tax practice. He has over fourteen years of employment tax consulting and compliance experience with a wide range of Federal, state, and local tax matters for clients in a variety of industries. Jon supports clients in maintaining compliant payroll tax operations in the United States, including overseeing the implementation and maintenance of multi-jurisdictional withholding policies, procedures, and capabilities, as well as assisting clients with the payroll considerations related to the movement of employees between legal entities.
Jessica Slean is a Tax Managing Director with over a decade of experience in tax and financial services consulting for public and privately held clients. Jessica focuses on tax accounting methods and credit services across numerous industries and commonly manages large R&D credit engagements in addition to managing large projects related to income and expense recognition, inventory, fixed assets, and depletion. Jessica has also participated in a rotation with KPMG’s Washington National Tax (WNT) practice, the technical core of KPMG’s tax practice in the United States.
